About Skullcandy
In 2003, Alden launched Skullcandy to integrate audio and mobile technologies into skateboard, snowboard and lifestyle products. In just six short years, Skullcandy has grown to become the No.2-selling headphone company in the United States and has introduced a line of more than 100 SKU’s of headphones, as well as many other audio products. Also critical to the brand’s success is its collaborations with top artists and brands such as Snoop Dogg, Mix Master Mike, Def Jam Records, Giro Helmets, Smith Optics, Paul Frank, Von Zipper and Dragon Alliance.
In February 2008 Skull Candy, donated the largest one time sum of money to the charity Boarding For Breast Cancer (B4BC) - a total of $36,723. The donation was given to the breast cancer awareness charity at the SIA, in Las Vegas. A year round sponsor of B4BC since 2006, Skullcandy donated five per cent of sales from all pink Smokin Buds and pink Icon headphones to the charity - in order to promote awareness, education and early detection of the disease.
